Vitae Pharmaceuticals named one of the Best Places to Work in PA 2013
  • Announcement marks fourth consecutive year Vitae has made the list

FORT WASHINGTON, PA – October 29, 2013 – Vitae Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company discovering and developing novel, small molecule, best-in-class compounds, today announced it was named one of Central Penn Business Journal’s 100 Best Places to Work in PA for 2013. The company will be honored at a reception on Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Lancaster County Convention Center. This is the fourth consecutive year Vitae has made the list.

Best Places to Work winners are selected based on the results of a two-part company assessment. Part one is a questionnaire on employer benefits and policies. Part two is an employee engagement and satisfaction survey. Any company or nonprofit organization with 25 or more full-time and/or part-time employees who work in Pennsylvania is eligible.

The results are analyzed and categorized according to eight core focus areas: leadership and planning, corporate culture and communications, role satisfaction, work environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits, and overall engagement.

“Creating an employee-centric culture is a priority at Vitae. Early on we asked our employees to create a core set of values that would make Vitae successful and a great place to work, and those values still guide us today,” said Jeff Hatfield, Vitae President and CEO. “Our focus on teamwork and open communication across functions allows us to develop innovative drugs quickly and enables our employees to understand and respect one another’s contributions.”

The awards program is designed to help existing companies in Pennsylvania retain their workforce, to attract new workers to the state, and to distinguish businesses that attract and retain Pennsylvania's workforce.

The Best Places to Work program is sponsored by Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, and Journal Multimedia.
